Done Dropping

This shot is from the farm with a sign my Dad made. I thought it was funny and appropriate for this post. I'm sad to say that I'm done with Entrecard dropping. The network administrator has informed me that there has been suspicious activity from my computer which is causing problems with the network. He told me the times that it had happened and they all corresponded to my lunch hour or after work when I would do my EC drops.

I've been growing disgruntled with EC for awhile but had continued to participate albeit much less often than in the past. But clearly the system is so corrupt and buggy that I can't risk my home computer either. I'm going to leave the button up for the time being since I don't think it's hurting anything and if it brings a little traffic in that's fine too.

I will now have to really think about how I want to keep this little blog going. I will be following the blogs that I regularly dropped on and using Google Friend Connect to do my blog hopping from now on. Hopefully I can find other less risky ways to connect with bloggers. Perhaps this might be just the thing I need to get me out of my blogging rut I've been in.

Hi Paige--I haven't dropped in for awhile but thanks for leaving your EC card for my blog. You know, I quit dropping quite awhile ago and I love all the time it has freed up for me. I still try to post and blog hop when I can--my blog roll works pretty well besides Google! Merry Christmas!!

I only drop on those sites I know are 'safe'. I have been getting a number of viruses through sites in certain categories which I now avoid completely. What a pain :(
I agree with Karen - not dropping really frees up lots of time!
Thx for following :)

take care,
Duni

I hear ya- we get in such a pattern of habbit in terms of routines for blog promotion, etc. that we often just don't have the time or care to seek out new ideas. I'm with you.

That's too bad about E.C. It's had lots of problems for a while now and unfortunately, it's a great way to connect with others, but with all of the head ache they've been giving us and on top of that risk of virus it's just not worth it.

I keep my widget up as a way for new people to find me but I don't worry about the dropping. The only drops I do are on the sites I know and trust and those that I WANT to visit on a regular basis. I don't blame you one bit. The dropping really can get quite tiresome

I'm pretty much the same way that these other ladies are with my dropping anymore. It is not worth the effort of visiting tons of blogs that I don't really care about, just for a few extra EC credits, especially with the increased risk of viruses. Thanks for following my blog! I love visiting your blog and will continue to visit whether or not you "drop" on my blog. :)

I haven't been an active EC dropper in many months.. I will drop if I am visiting a blog that has one.. but other than that, nada. It makes me nervous that their have been viruses associated with it though.. eesh...

so sorry to see you leaving EC. I haven't been dropping a lot lately either and don't venture too far from the blogs I know... Usually will do it in the morning, while drinking my coffee, before work! Hope we can continue visiting on our blogs. Have a happy holiday and enjoy your new years. {:-Deb

I stopped "seriously dropping" almost two years ago and it really did free up a lot of time. Dropping had become an obsession and it feels good to break that habit! I'll keep dropping in from time to time. Wishing you and yours a blessed Christmas!

I quit a long time ago and haven't looked back. EC is very corrupt and I'm glad to be out of it.

I never officially closed out my account even though I have no EC widget on my blog. It is amazing how I get 20 - 30 drops on that non-existent button! Hmmmm...tell me it isn't rigged somehow. And it is by the same "bloggers" every day. I'm so glad I'm done with it.

That said, if you continue with your regular readers and try to link up a few new ones here and there, you will increase your traffic. Mine has never been better since I left EC. Those were "empty" drops anyway--rarely did anyone stick around to actually read the posts.

You are going to enjoy your free time now, Paige!
