Sales Dance!

I had my first Etsy sale in 5 months the other day. It was encouraging to know that people are still somehow finding me in the sea of Etsy sellers. I was getting so discouraged that I had been considering closing up shop and just focusing on craft shows but I do think it's important to have some on-line presence. If nothing else it's like a portfolio of your work to direct people. I'm still seriously looking at other options like Artfire and expanding my 1000 Market's shop as it continues to grow.

I have literally hundreds of scarves in my inventory that are unphotographed and unlisted. I really need to get my butt in gear and take pictures the next 2 weekends. After that I'm going to be tagging my inventory and it's so much harder to get decent pictures once there is a price tag getting in the way. A friend gave me a very nice tripod that he wasn't using so that should help. I'm also going to get Kai to help me since I think having 2 sets of hands will make it go much faster. Having to set the shot up and style it takes so much time and going back and forth gets tiring. Hopefully the effort will be worth it in Fall sales.

Big congrats! My shop is much of the same...sleeping. BUT, you are right, out of the blue there's action, and that online "portfolio" is wonderful if for nothing other than a way of not being forgotten:)

50 followers for a contest? Wow, I am in awe of you, honestly!

Wonderful news! I'm quite new & haven't experienced a lot of sales. I'm still trying to figure out the "blog world" and other things!

Congrats on your sale, Paige! Things have been slow on Etsy this summer, but it's been picking up for me the past couple weeks. I think people are starting to look again. I like going to craftcult everyday and check out how many views my items are getting. They are definitely picking up. One thing I'm doing is renewing every couple days if I don't have anything new to list. I really didn't want to do that because of the fee. But, I think that's why the views and sales have gone up. Or at least that's my guess.

Congrats!! I understand how discouraging it can get, but if you are able to keep plugging away at it I think it eventually becomes more regular. Since my livelihood is my handcrafting, I am unable to rely solely on Etsy so I have always just sort of listed an item or two everyday & hoped for the best *smiles*

Awesome!! I don't have an etsy shop, but a good friend does, and things have gotten very slow for her as well. I love your scarfs, so I'm "favoriting" your shop right now :)

congrats on the sale. I, too, haven't had a sale for a long while. Times are bad, but the holidays, and YOUR season, looks to be just around the corner.

Thanks for reminding me to look at Etsy. I ordered custom pillowcases in July and still haven't gotten them.
Sigh.
Took a spin thru your shop and found some lovely stuff. The Pixies do indeed rock.

I feel you pain. I have a ton of scarves to list, but just haven't gotten to it.

Thank goodness my friends and family don't mind getting Christmas scarves every 3-4 years, lol.

I love making them, but sometimes they stick around for a while.

It is really a good thing to have an Etsy shop. Don't give up! Things are super slow for me there, too.
